Bagnell Dam to Be Closed April 9 and 10
Special Event Will Also Close the Dam on April 12


Bagnell Dam on Business Route 54 in Miller County will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, April 9 and Tuesday, April 10 for survey and pavement work. If weather keeps the work from taking place on those days, crews will likely tackle the work on April 16 and 17.

In addition, the fourth annual Light up the Night ceremony, a community awareness event in honor of crime victims, will close the dam from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12. More information about that event is available at

Drivers can use Route 242 as an alternate route during the closures.

Per the Harry S. Truman Lake, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

The roadway across Truman Dam will be closed for maintenance work beginning Wednesday, April 4, 2018.

Per Dale Crawford at Regal Beloit:

Just advance notice the state highway department is planning on replacing a culvert on Highway AC between US 65 and our plant entrance on Wednesday, March 14th. This will stop all plant access from US 65. Estimated time of work is from 8AM till late afternoon. All plant access will have to come from the west.
