The Benton County, MO Community Emergency Response Team has a busy month planned for July (thank goodness for downtime in August!) and they want to invite YOU to take part!
First, on July 1st, they are having an Open House to let the residents and visitors to our great county know about the CERT program and the upcoming FREE CERT training in Lincoln, MO. The Open House will take place at VFW Post 5925. It will be ongoing from 6 PM to 8 PM, so you can drop in anytime between those hours to ask questions, meet the trainers, and check out the equipment the BC MO CERT keeps in their bags!
Next, the BC MO CERT (as well as the BC ARES) will be working with the Lincoln Police Department during the upcoming Lincoln 150th Anniversary Celebration and 4th of July festivities. For each of the three days (July 4, 5, and 6) there are three locations for traffic control, a parking area, and the command post/tent and table, so there are plenty of places and types of activities for which to volunteer! If you are an existing CERT, ARES, or EMA volunteer, please email the BC MO CERT at firstname.lastname@example.org and let them know which time slot and activity you are interested in for the festivities.
Immediately following that weekend, the July 2019 CERT class starts on July 8 at Lincoln High School on Lamine St. from 6 PM to 9 PM!
The BC MO CERT members look forward to meeting future members and are excited about the upcoming activities and class! Thank you for reading and see you there!
