Daily Truman Lake Update 5/29/19

The BC MO EM will be releasing daily posts once each morning about Truman Lake and Dam to provide reliable information to the public. Our goal is to stop rumors and misinformation regarding the lake, the dam, release levels, and more.

Truman Lake Info Daily Update

Current Truman Lake Level: 737.74 as of 0630 5/29/2019

Projected crest level and date: 739.53 on 6/5/2019

Current CFS Release: 24,000 cfs

Projected CFS releases and date: 24,000 cfs thru June 8,2019

Area information:

Town Hall Meeting hosted by Corps of Engineers. “Truman Lake elevation, releases from Truman dam and impact to Local area” 6:00 pm at the Visitors Center.

All USACE camp grounds closed with the exception of a portion of the Thibaut Point camp ground.

Berry Bend high water ramp is the only open USACE access to Truman Lake.

Road across Truman Dam and East Bledsoe Ferry areas closed till further notice.

Truman Dam and Levy system under 24 surveillance and increased inspections as per their standard operating procedures. Expect to see increase in USACE personnel in and around their facilities.

The Dam is operating as designed.

Safety information: The current lake level projections are with no additional rain. Releases from Truman Dam can change with minimal notice. Please take this time to prepare for higher releases.

With high releases from Truman Dam come increased risk of severe flash flooding in areas typically not subject to flooding due to inundation. Low water crossing will likely be covered significantly deeper than normal, use caution.
