There may come a time when you find yourself in a position where you need to call 911. Most people don’t know what to say or what the dispatchers will ask and that makes them nervous!
Deputy Director Samantha Henley has worked with dispatchers at Benton County Central Dispatch to put together a flyer to help people learn what information dispatchers need from you when you call 911.
This flyer is open use and we welcome anyone, far and wide, to use it for educational purposes!
During the course of 911 calls, dispatchers will talk to you and ask you more questions. This is to provide vital information to first responders. One of a dispatchers biggest concerns, after helping the caller, is to help protect the first responders to the best of his or her ability. The old saying, “Forewarned is forearmed.” holds true each and every time.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and learn about helping our dispatchers and first responders! We hope you never have to use this information!
