With the formation of the BC MO CERT FB group, BC MO CERT releasing its tentative September training schedule (course to be taught by Sam Henley, your Deputy Director!), National Volunteer Week, National ASL Day, Amateur Radio Testing by the BC ARES, RHSOC and LEPC meetings, meeting with the new Region A SEMA coordinator (Thanks, Gloria!), further SEMA training, National Work Zone Awareness Week, National 911 Month, crazy “Spring” weather, and a busy Events calendar, this month has flown by!
Mark has been helping numerous agencies apply for grant funding for things like gear for volunteer firefighters, communications equipment for the 911 radio room, and more! He has helped and will continue to help professionals in our county get the necessary FEMA training they need to remain NIMS (National Incident Management System) compliant. He works constantly to aid police, fire, ems, and the county to obtain resources they need to serve and protect you, our residents, on a daily basis! He is working tirelessly to acquire funding for and implement a downstream notification system for residents living below Truman Dam!
Sam has been continuing numerous training programs to fulfill her requirements for the role of Deputy Director. She works hand in hand with the volunteer organizations in the county and will continue to reach out to more as time goes on. She also continues her role as Social Media Manager, keeping the Facebook page, website, and BC MO CERT group updated regularly.
May will bring even MORE activities. We sure hope the weather cooperates!
Thanks for dropping by!
